I have a field that has values of type varchar, the values follow a certain pattern,
for example:
L1_maq1_abc, L1_CFA, L2_maq1_abc, and L2_CFA.
I need to create 4 custom columns where in each one of them will bring only one type of each information.
How can i do this in power bi?
Sounds like you should use "Edit Queries" to split the field?
1. click Edit Queries in banner
2. click ur wacky column in the Query Editor window
3. on Transform ribbon click "Split Column" > By Delimeter
4. likely it will default to _ (undescore), but if not, set that...
5. click ok
6. dance.

In this way I will end up dividing values that can not be divided
I'm confused or something 🙂
Is "L1_maq1_abc, L1_CFA, L2_maq1_abc, and L2_CFA" literally a single value? Split by comma then?
