Creating clustered column charts based on delivery phase and month

Hi

Can anyone help with this.  I have a table with rows showing individual engagements ID's - AA#1, AA#2 etc

In the columns are the different phases of the engagements - Requested, In Planning, In Delivery, Completed

The values are the completion dates for each phase for each engagement.Capture1.PNG

What I need is a cluster column chart showing the number of engagements by phase, each month.  This is what it looks like in excel

To do this in excel I have to create 4 pivot tables, 1 for each phase and then link them to a single table from which I can create the clustered column chart

Can anyone advise how I can do this in Power BI.  I believe there is no way to link up the 4 matrix tables to a single table in the report so I must have to modify the dataset such that I get a count for number of occurences for each phase within each month but I just can't see how??

Hi @rogerta,

If I understand you correctly, you can firstly unpivot all the phase columns(Requested, In Planning, In Delivery, Completed). Then you should be able to easily shown the unpivoted columns on the clustered column chart(one as Legend, the other as Value) to get the expected result in your scenario.

For more details about how to Pivot and Unpivot with Power BI, you can refer to this article. Smiley Happy
