Creating a new table from multiple tables that already have relationships in place

Hi,

I am picking up a PowerBI file that has already had the relationships setup, so thought creating a new table using DAX would be the best option - however I am getting the error "The column 'columnname' in the SUMMARIZE function was not found in the input table"

This is the formula I am using

Payroll = SUMMARIZE(Contact,Contact[afficode],Contact[SalesExecutive],Contact[MainSource],Contact[SubSource],Deal[columnname])

as you can see it has allowed me to choose the related column, yet I am getting the error.

I could create a new table in PowerQuery however would this screw up the existing relationships or do I need to reference the linked columns as per the relationship eg they both share the field 'customernumber' within the dax expression?

Thanks

you can try to use max() or related() to get the columnname
