Creating a dynamic dependent drop down measure/slicer

I am trying to create a depenednt drop down/ slicer in PowerBi.

Previously I have done this in excel using data validation list and offset function.

I want to create a two level depenedent slicer. With region as the first level and local area as the second.

For the example in the file if the region selected is:

Region= East Midlands

Then drop down the 9 local areas within this region?

And to do this for each of the regions once selected, allowing only one selection per region or area?

Thanks

Hi @Dermott22 ,

I doubt it's possible in one slicer. Do you consider to create two slicers?

Best Regards,

@Dermott22 , if they belong to the same table, they should automatically do that or create a hierarchy.

If they are from different tables, the take a measure from the common fact table and check that measure is not blank in visual level filter

Is there a way by adding measure/formula that the dropdown will only show the selected areas for the region which has been selected?

Thanks

Frances

Thank you for your prompt reply I must have done something wrong as this is not showing correctly in hierachy slicer. They are all in 1 table
