Creating Virtual Relationship with Differing Column detail

Hello everyone,

I'm reaching out for guidance on establishing a virtual relationship when the matching column detail differ.

Consider the simple example of a Sales Forecast table I have, which is linked to a Date Table.

Given that this table is related to forecasted sales, I aim to label it as such within a slicer for clarity.

However, I'm uncertain about the steps to create a virtual relationship for this purpose. I know that I can add extra column to the forecast sales table to make this work, but i wanted to see whether i can use dax to build this relationship virtually - such as using "Treatas"...  building relationship between "2024/2025" with "2024/2025 Forecast"

Any advice on how to proceed would be greatly appreciated.

To simplify my question, I'm interested in finding out if it's possible to create a virtual relationship when the matching column names differ, as  below.

Hi, @CupidC

According to your description, if the data values of the two columns are not the same, even if the relationship is pulled, the relationship does not work (can not find the data with the same name), you can achieve this requirement with the help of index columns/custom columns.
