Creating Slicers for Monthly & Quarterly Data

Hi All,

I have two datasets—one with monthly data and another with quarterly data.
Currently, the months are organized in columns, making it difficult to create a slicer for Month. Similarly, for the quarterly data, each quarter is in a separate column, preventing the creation of a slicer for Quarter.

I have attached a sample data link for your reference.

Could you please check and assist me in resolving this issue?

Thank you.

@harirao , To create slicer first you need to Unpivot the data in Power Query

1. Load your data into Power BI.
2. Click on "Transform Data" to open Power Query Editor.
3. Select the columns that you want to unpivot (e.g., Jan, Feb, Mar for monthly data).
4. Right-click on the selected columns and choose "Unpivot Columns".
5. Rename the new columns as needed (e.g., "Month" and "Value").
6. Close and apply the changes.

@bhanu_gautam

Thank you for your response.

I tried this option, and once the data is unpivoted, Attribute and Value columns are created. However, I want to maintain the table format as it is from the source while also having a slicer for Month and Quarter, respectively.

Could you suggest a way to achieve this?

Thanks!
