Hi everyone,
First of all, forgive me if this question has already been answered but i've hit a brick wall. I'm trying to create a dashboard using two tables (individual jobs and monthly targets). I have created my DimDate table and have successfully created a relationship between the two. What i'm now trying to do is to create a pivot table/matrix of sorts that summarises a series of measures from the jobs and targets tables. Something like this:
I can work out the measures from each table and have them output in one column (see below). Note that i have changed the row headers to reflect which table the data has come from.
Has anyone got any pointers as to how i can achieve the top output? Do i need to start adding calculated columns to the monthly targets table, or do i need to add some additional tables that branch off it?
Thanks, Richard.
Split the row headers into two columns by adding calculated columns, then you may use the Matrix visual.
Hi Sam,
Thanks for taking the time to reply but i don't understand your suggestion. My action prior to posting was to add a table viz and then bring in each field, based on a combination of calculated columns, measures and actual values. Since i posted the question i've researched and produced measure tables, one for the jobs and another for the targets. Am i on the right lines?
I feel like the solution to this is likely to be simpler than i imagine but i'm just banging my head against a wall at the moment.
Richard.
