Creating A Report With A Header, Footer, And Grouped Content
- 7 years ago
Hi there,
That is not really what PowerBI Desktop is used for.
I think you might want to check out Power BI Paginated reports:

Hi Anonymous ,
1. "It's your traditional report: Maybe a graphic (logo), a title and header text. All three of which are to appear at the top of every page."
- This is possible in Power BI. You will manually add them not like in office word that once you set a header, it will appear on all pages. Power BI is used for data analysing.
2. "The main content is a table displaying the data for the report, and it must also be able to support grouping. In the example the records are grouped by "Department"."
- We have lots of visualizations available in Power BI. This can be achieved. I believe.
3. "Then at the bottom of each page is some footer text, along with the current page number."
- Also, this can be achieved by manually putting a footer and page number. Power BI is used for analysing data.
4. "The data is coming from a database, so the number of records is not known upfront. So the report could be one page, or 100 pages. "
- Depends on how many pages you create. You can actually create more than 100 pages.
5. "Each page must be able to fit on a chosen output piece of paper: whether it be A4, US Letter, or some other common paper size."
- Once you export the report in pdf, you can print it in any page size and any orientation you want.
