Create distinct line graphs on same timeline

I want to be able to plot a planned vs. actual on the same timeline, but currently i have to manually filter my graph to the planned start and end dates. This means that any actual that goes onto the graph will put a straight line to the end of the timeline instead of stopping where it is at.

It also means that if i run over scheduele, i have to manually update the end date of the timeline.

Ideally i would like to have a timeline no matter the size, that has two distinct line graphs on it, one showing a linear start-end planned data, and a non-linear day to day actual graph.

Im currently getting this using a simple planned and actual measure, 

Actual = CALCULATE(COUNTA('Result'[Creation Date]), FILTER( ALL ('Result'[Creation Date]), 'Result'[Creation Date] <= MAX( Timeline[Timeline])))

Planned = CALCULATE(SUM('Dates'[Iterations]), FILTER( ALL ('Dates'[Start Date (Test Phase)]), 'Dates'[Start Date (Test Phase)] <= MAX( Timeline[Timeline])))

i would like it to not have the light blue line going all the way to the end of the date. and if i increase the date range, the dark blue line will also go linearly across.

Modify your measures to return BLANK() outside of the desired date range.
