Hi everyone,
Here is my question.
I want to create a mapping table so i can connect several table in my report, example I have 1 query with sales by country and 1 query with product number also containing the country. So i am creating something like the below so I can create a relationship using the country field. So far all good.
When I add a second column, in the example below location, and I am trying to create a relationship based on that PBI returns me the message that this is a many to many and can not be created, however the values below are unique.
Work around way was to simply fill the second column with some dummy values till the last row. My impression is that when I leave it blank and i load it to PBI is recogninzing the blank sales as duplicates.
Am I doing something wrong? Should I create separate tabs in my excels for each and every attribute?
Country | Location |
UK | Production |
Germany | Supply |
Netherlands | Distribution |
France | |
Hungary | |
S Africa | |
Romania |
Thanks
Fanis
@Greg_Deckler Thank you. Do you think that is a solution to create separate tabs in my auxilary excel or is there an easier way? Thanks
Fanis
@Anonymous Normally those two columns would be separate dimension tables.
@Anonymous Correct, if have multiple blanks Power BI is not going to generally like that in being involved in a relationship and will flag it as many.
