I'm using python script to create a Table in power BI. Can i able to attach scroll bars to the table visula to make it interactive?
Hi @Manasa55 ,
Right now, when you use a Python script to generate a table in Power BI, the result is always a static image. This is just how Power BI handles Python visuals, even if you use interactive libraries like Plotly, Dash, or similar, the output inside Power BI won’t have scroll bars or real interactivity. You’d only see those features if you run your code in a web browser, not inside Power BI.
If you want a table that has scroll bars and supports interaction (sorting, filtering, etc.), the only way is to use Power BI’s built-in Table or Matrix visual. These visuals automatically show scroll bars when needed and let users explore the data interactively.
If you need to do complex data prep, you can absolutely use Python scripts in Power Query first — then use a native Table or Matrix to display your cleaned data, and you’ll get all the interactive features Power BI offers.
If you really need something more custom (like special interactive features that Power BI’s built-in visuals don’t offer), you’d have to look at building a custom Power BI visual using JavaScript/TypeScript, but that’s a whole different (and more advanced) path.
Hi @rohit1991
I tried those suggestions you provided but those didn't workout. I used plotly package in the python script this generating visual in the web browser instead of power bi. I need interactive visual directly within power bi through python script.
