Hi Guys,
I am new to Power BI, I was trying to create a simple visualsation to show the changes overtime of a column called (Cost) over time. For some reasons I cannot do that because of the aggregation option that I cannot get rid of it when adding cost into y axis. I have set to no calculation and also dont summurise but still cant get rid of the (sum, max, min, avg etc). I just wanted to create a simple chart (which can be created in excel in 2 min) that shows the changes in the cost over time. Also when i select the line chart option I do not have values just x, y axis and legend etc no values? the time i have is a timestamp type (dd/MM/YY time)
Thanks in advance

Hi All,
I have found the answer to my question; thanks for all those who helped out.
I did the following steps to plot the line chart:
Step 1: changed the date type to timestamp in the X axes
Step 2: created a new measure and summed the values using the sum function
Thank you 🙂

Hi thank you for your help 🙂
Assume this is the dataset that I have; I want to see the cost change over time using a line chart; when I use Power BI it counts the number when the cost of porduct a was equal to A but this is not what I want I want to see the actual value of the porudct a at a specific time overtime
Product A | Cost |
27/08/2022 10:10:10 | $4.5 |
27/08/2022 10:20:10 | $5.5 |
27/08/2022 10:30:10 | $6.5 |
Hi @Anonymous
Thanks for reaching out to us.
>> shows the changes in the cost over time.
In the line chart, it will do some aggregation calculations on the data based on the abscissa.
>>I just wanted to create a simple chart (which can be created in excel in 2 min)
could you give some sample data and expected output? thanks.
