Create a new (transformed) table in a new model from an existing model

Hiya all, any help appreciated.

I'm new to Power BI, Power Query etc.  Hopefully this is the right place.  I've tried searching the forums/Google etc. and just can't find anything on what I'm trying to do exactly - maybe it's just not possible, or whether it's the way to do it.

I've created a semantic model and this is published to Power BI.  No issues there.

I now want to transform one of the tables within the existing semantic model, but to a new model that's separate from the existing model.

I've created a new .pbix via Power BI desktop, I've connected to the existing semantic model and imported the table I'd like to transform.  The table etc. is visible from the model viewer.

However, when I click "Transform Data" to go to Power Query, I don't see the existing table to be able to anything with it.

Is what I'm doing possible?  Should I just add my transformations to the existing model?  I thought of keeping them separate because this transformation is for aspecific set of reports, so it seemed sensible to keep it seperate just for these reports.

@ANJ,

When you connect a pbix to a published semantic model (i.e. "golden model"), you won't see the tables for the golden model in Power Query. The connection to the golden model uses either Live Connection or DirectQuery. Any Power Query transformations for golden model tables must be done in the golden model.
