I have a dataset, with various statuses and the dates they changed
sample (fake) data:
Worker | Status | Date Updated |

and what I want to create is a summary of the worker statuses in all months of the year:

I added a Matrix visual with your sample data and this is what it looks like.
You can add the fields like the below. But remember it's only going to pull in the First status of that date by the worker.
