Create a measure instead of calculated column

Hi guys,

I would like to create a measure instead of calculated column.

The measure should calculate price for each item in stock. Just simple calculation: value of stock / number of items in stock for each row.

My table has following columns:

date, product_id, stock_pieces, stock_value

I dont know if simple division is correct from table perspective... it should give the same result as new calclulated column within the table.

thank you for your help.

Martin

thank you for quick response. Will this solution take into account each row (date + product_id)?
Will this be the same as simple calculated column scock_value/stock_pieces? Not aggregated result.
I will give it a try
thx

Try this :

Price Per Item =
DIVIDE(
SUM(Table1[stock_value]),
SUM(Table1[stock_pieces])
)

This measure sums the values in the "stock_value" column and divides it by the sum of the values in the "stock_pieces" column. This gives you the price per item in stock.
