I have a project in excel which i have to replicate in Power bi.
Data looks like:
I want to make header for ASBL and EAC same as it is above in Power bi.
I tried using matrix but as i have multiple string columns it seems difficult.
Let me know is there any dax or any other way.
Thanks!
Hi @Anonymous ,
Based on my research, it is not supported in power bi currently because powerbi does not recognize the merged column headings but treats each cell as a separate column. The merged column headings will only appear in one of the columns, and the remaining columns will be displayed as null.
Here is an simliar idea about this issue, you can vote for it to help us improve power bi and make this feature coming sooner.
Best Regards,
Yingjie Li

Hi @Anonymous
I don't think it is possile to do it in power BI as how is the visual goinf to know which columns merge together to form a combined header and when not to.
@Anonymous
Is there any dax to create header or any power bi option to do it.
@amitchandak , Matrix won't work bcoz i have multiple text columns.
It works if you are working with a single text column
HI @Anonymous
There is no DAX measure which can give you the name of the column I am aware about.
You can check the below video, it doesn't do exactly as per your ask but shows you how an hierarchial column can be useful.

@Anonymous , Assuming the is the visual format, not the raw data, I think this should possible with Matrix
