I do reporting for a large city municipality. I need to show total unavailibility for a given day ( sick, awol, line of duty injury etc...). I have no problem showing the amount for the given day but I cannot get the total outage, for example 50 employees went sick today but there are still 350 out from past occurrences. I need to show the 400 total. I know the logic behind it but cannot make it work. I want to show the count of unavailibility type where the start date is less than or equal to the minimum date entered and the end date has not occurred ( greater than or equal to today, or blank). Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
@tfiglioli , Can you share sample data and sample output in table format? Or a sample pbix after removing sensitive data.
Also, refer this HR blog. Start date , end date(blank and non blank) and availability(current employee) has been used
Thank you this is great. I'm out of my office until Monday but I will definitley use some of the suggestions from the HR blog. I appreciate the help.
@tfiglioli - Sure, can you post sample data as text and expected output?
Not really enough information to go on, please first check if your issue is a common issue listed here: https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Community-Blog/Before-You-Post-Read-This/ba-p/1116882

The most important parts are:
1. Sample data as text, use the table tool in the editing bar
2. Expected output from sample data
3. Explanation in words of how to get from 1. to 2.
