Count for same time period last year returning blank with page slicer

Hi, 

I've looked at a few posts about similar issues and tried all the solutions and I'm still getting a blank return when I'm expecting numbers. 

I have a feedback form that I want to count the number of responses I've recieved in a time period and beside it a comparison of how many people responded in the same time period last year. The time period is dependant on what the user selects on a date slicer. 

I have a date table with the date column the slicer. 

I have tried the following: 

Responses Last Year =

 CALCULATE( [Number of Responses],SAMEPERIODLASTYEAR(DateTable[Date]), ALL(DateTable[Date]))

I have also tried creating another column in the date table with the same date last year for each date and then calcating the number of responses and filtering by this column and I get similar results.

Is there another way to get this to work?

For my small data model it works fine.

Do you have values to sum for period -1 year in your data model for your specific usecase?
Maybe there are other influences.
I don´t know your model. Just set up one small to check the logic. It worked for me
