Correct way to pull data from Power BI to Excel?

I have a Power BI project with filtered power query tables. I now want to display those in an Excel sheet.

I find that when I'm in excel and go to Get Data > From Power Platform > From Power BI then it loads up Power BI datasets.

I've published the project to my workspace but it doesn't show. My other projects show but it seems like it takes a while to show in this panel.

Is there a better way to do this locally without publishing to the web first? Or is there a way to have this publish and then show instantly?
