Good Morning,
I build out a data model in Power BI, but I am not able to build the P&L I was wanting as easily as I though in Power BI. I'd like to move this work over to excel as its own new query / data model without having to redo that work and without it going through Power BI to connect to my data source. Can this query and data model simply be copied/moved into excel?
Thanks!
@Uzi2019, thanks for the quick response. The data model I built out is connected to my SQL Server, I just want to setup or move the connection directly into excel through power query and power pivot so that I can delete or not rely on the original pbix file. Are you saying that won't be possible?
hi @MBenton8
Ohh, I got your point. please refer below video for better understanding.
You can change the connection ie data source from power query. it is possible.

I hope I answered your question!
Hi @MBenton8
You can't move or copy paste the data model but you can put everything(All fileds) in the table and export into excel.
your complete data will be downloaded into csv so you can copy paste from csv to excel.
I hope i answered your question!
