Which type of files you stored in these column with binary types?
If they are particular file type(e.g. excel, xml, csv...), you can try to add a custom column to use specific connectors to get these file contents.
For example:
Use excel connector to get data from binary workbooks:
Load images, and other Binary-typed data, into the Data Model

Maybe you can try to convert them to text, it is hard to decode binary data without clearly file type and connector.
