Our datamart is running on a Azure Database for PostgreSQL - Flexible Server, and we have been using the PostgreSQL Database connector to access the database.
The database is setup with SSL ON and "require_secure_transport" ON (Whether client connections to the server are required to use some form of secure transport.).
We haven't had any issues with this previously, but with the latest release of Power BI Desktop (2.137.751.0 64-bit - October 2024) we aren't able to connect any more with the following error:
However, if I turn "require_secure_transport" off, the connection works fine (if I choose to access the data source with unencrypted connection), but this is not an option for us.
I am still able to connect to the databse using Azure Data studio, and the Power BI gateway used by the Power BI Service does not have any issues connecting, so the problem persists only in the October release of Power BI Desktop.
I tested the september release of Power BI, and that works without any issue.

Thanks for the feedback Gao, I have tested the new verison and it works fine
Hello, any acknowledgement from PowerBi side on this issue?
Any ETA by when this will be resolved.
I have tried to report this as a bug, but I don't have access to create a support request since this has to be done by our microsoft partner.
Is there any other channel that could be used to file a bug report?
Microsoft has reported a known bug with postgresql connector as resolved on October 9th:

But I am not sure if this is the source of the new bug, or if it might fix this issue
Hi all,
The product team created this ICM internally and engineers are investigating this issue. If there is any news, I will synchronize it below.

Hello,
We are having the same problem.
Best regards,
Same problem here. Power BI October 2024 can't connect to Azure Postgres Flexible Server. Revert to September resolves it. Thanks for the post, was driving me mad.
We are experiencing the exact same issue when connecting to Azure PostgreSQL Flexible Servers and also had to revert to the September release. So this seems to a Power BI issue and not a certificate or server issue.
We experienced the same problem; installing the database's certificates onto the dev machine that is running PowerBI Desktop had no effect on connectivity.
We did notice that of the 3 files provided there, the DigiCert Global Root G2 was a .crt.pem file instead of a .crt file, so we did not install that one.
I also tried adding the three certificates to Trusted Root Certification Authorities in Windows (mmc) with no effect
Hi @OAasPro - Since you've mentioned that the September version works fine, you could temporarily revert to that version until Microsoft resolves the issue with Power BI's October release.

from your end cross check that the SSL certificate required for connecting securely is correctly installed on the machine running Power BI Desktop.Sometimes, Power BI Desktop requires you to manually install the SSL certificate used by the PostgreSQL server.
For a quick solution, rolling back to the September version or adjusting your SSL setup in Power BI Desktop is likely the best way forward.
