Hi Everyone,
I'm working on a project in Saudi.
There is a requirement to connect Power BI to a excel file synced in STC Cloud FileValt. Is there anyway to do this. Also we will need to set up a scheduled refresh as well.
Thanks in Advance.
Thanks for your detailed reply. I was able to connect to the file, but unfortunately due to regulatory issues, plan to publish to cloud has been cancelled. So I 'm not able to verify the second part of your answer.
Hi, @Vishnu1995
Yes, it is possible to connect Power BI to an Excel file that is synced in STC Cloud FileVault. Here are the steps to do this:
1. Open Power BI Desktop and click on "Get Data" in the Home tab.
2. Select "Excel" from the list of data sources.
3. In the "Navigator" window that appears, select "File" as the source and browse to the location of the Excel file in your STC Cloud FileVault.
4. Select the Excel file and click "Open".
5. In the "Navigator" window, select the worksheet or table that you want to use as your data source and click "Load".
To set up a scheduled refresh, you will need to publish your Power BI report to the Power BI service. Here are the steps to do this:
1. In Power BI Desktop, click on "Publish" in the Home tab.
2. Sign in to your Power BI account and select the workspace where you want to publish the report.
3. Click "Select" to publish the report.
4. Once the report is published, go to the "Datasets" tab in the Power BI service.
5. Find the dataset that corresponds to your Excel file and click on the ellipsis (...) next to it.
6. Select "Settings" and then "Scheduled refresh".
7. Enable scheduled refresh and set the refresh frequency and time.
