Hi there,
I have a Power BI dataflow which pulls data from Microsoft Exchange (Outlook mailbox).
I perform minimal modelling within the dataflow, as it took 2 - 4 hours to refresh when I tried performing transformations as part of the flow, so I simply choose columns in the flow, then connect to it in Power BI desktop and perform transformations there.
We use Snowflake mostly to pull data and perform ETL processes, so in Power BI we simply reference the snowflake table and this improves performance of Power BI models.
I would like to perform my mailbox transformations using Snowflake ideally, then simply reference the table in Power BI. At the moment there are no less than six tables to perform all the transformations I need to the data before I load it.
I know you can pull data FROM snowflake into a dataflow, but can you do the reverse?
No, dataflows are ONLY accessible from datasets.
Now, I hear you say - what about Direct Query for Dataflows? I'll let you step into that quicksand. You're on your own.
