Connect to PBI Dataset but switch parameter

Hello Community,

Is there a way where I can connect to an existing PBI dataset in the service but be allowed to change a parameter value?

In essence I would like to have kind of a 'golden dataset' but with a different client parameter for each model so I can have a central place to control my measures and model

AFAIK, this is not possible in Power BI Service.

While this can be achieved on Power BI Desktop using Power BI Template files.

would it be possible to have the value stored as a table value and have the model I am connecting to read the value and apply it as a filter?

I have 20+ models that are essentially the same  except for a parameter value and am looking for a way to centralize the model and measures
