Conditional filter by chart selection

Hi community,

I have an issue with how I would like to visualise my data and it is quite hard to explain. Unfortunately, I am not able to adjust the structure of the data, such as pivoting, due to the number of rows/columns in the real dashboard.

The report is for tracking delivery performance over six separate transit stages at an item level. I have four columns in the example (real data is much larger):

  • Trade Lane
    • these are the collection/delivery locations for each transit stage. Not important for the issue but helps with the visualisation.
  • Item_Number
    • the item being delivered.
  • Transit
    • the transit stage, all items will have 6 eventually
  • Performance
    • the performance of each transit stage

I then have six bar charts for each transit stage. The problem I have is that I would like to be able click on a chart segment and filter the other charts to show the items in that segment. For example, clicking on the 3 delayed items in transit 6 would filter the other charts to only show those 3 items, allowing us to see their performance in the previous stages:

I hope that makes sense. I have a sample pbix available via WeTransfer (WeTransfer) or alternatively you can use the table below:

Trade LaneItem_NumberTransitPerformance
TL1_A-BItem_1Transit_1On Time
TL2_A-BItem_1Transit_2On Time

Hi @AdamDel ,

Is it possible to explain in detail: clicking on the 3 delayed items in transit 6 would filter the other charts to only show those 3 items, allowing us to see their performance in the previous stages?

Hi @Anonymous,

of course, and thank you for taking time to look at this. So far 7 items have completed transit stage 6 with 3 of them being delayed and 4 delivered on time:

Delayed

  • Item_2
  • Item_4
  • Item_5

On Time

  • Item_3
  • Item_6
  • Item_7
  • Item_10

What we would like to see when selecting the 3 delayed, is to filter the other charts to only include those 3 items. The same kind of result as if I had used a page filter to manually select those items:

thanks
