Conditional Formatting

Hi,

Been looking in to different methods to get colour in to a field or Icon etc.

I have the below data coming in from an external db.

Name	Target	Colour
Bob	23/03/2018 00:00	Green
Fred	06/03/2018 00:00	Red
Jeff	03/03/2018 00:00	Green
Emma	22/03/2018 00:00	Amber

What is the best approach for this?

• Can i do formatting on the cell on the Target? to change it to Green/Red/Amber?
• Or is it just best to do a switch on the colour field to an URL or is there a better method to do this that will not rely on external websites.

Any help will be great.

Conditional formatting only supports numeric columns so I would come up with a number for each of the colors and do rule-based conditional formatting.
