Concatenate columns of same table when you are using Direct query mode

Hi people,

I am trying to Concatenate EmpolyeeID with EmployeeName column which reside in the same table. Given that there may be two or more employees with same name but diffrent employeeId.

eg:

EmployeeName    EmployeeID

Zoe                             1

Zoe                             6

I do have EmployeeSK field available. I am using Direct query mode so i cannot have a calculated column, it has to be DAX measure whis should look like :

CashierName-Code

Zoe - 1

Zoe - 6

I have tried concatenate function but it gives me error saying "a table of multiple values was supplied"

Thanks in advance

Hi @Anonymous ,

You can't manage data model while using live connection.

You may check about this article.

Thanks Jay, that makes sense, I just wanted to confirm before coming to a conclusion.

Hi @Anonymous ,

You may want to try this to handle customers with same name.
