Hi,
I will need to work with a large dataset of 200 millions rows in Power Bi Desktop. The PBIX will be around 2 GB and will be uploade in Premium. My computer has 8 GB of RAM, is it enough? What would be enough? How can I rationalize this to my boss?
Many thanks,
Joel
I recently built a project with ~20millions lines in input mode, and my 32Gb RAM were overloaded.
I am looking forward to get a 128Gb system to be able to work without problems with my datasets, but my IT department seems to be misled by answers like v-yuta-msft's, who simply copy/paste the minimum requirements to run the application...
While it is no proof, I can safely say 64Gb is better than 32Gb to load a big file, having errors trying to load it on my 32Gb (i9) machine and no problem with my personal 64Gb (5950X) machine.
Hi joelgagnon,
8GB RAM is enough to run run power bi desktop. Please see the minimum requirement for running power bi desktop below:

Jimmy Tao
