Hello Community, we currently have data for certain items and their properties (defined as sections in attached sample excel). We currently have 2 data models which we created for self-service usage and we want to reuse the same data models (any one of them) if possible.
Currently users have an excel which has criteria defined for these items to meet standards defined as "Rules" sheet in the attached sample excel. We want the compare these rules against the actual values for these items and determine if they "pass" or "fail" to start off with.
One catch is that, we need user input to identify which object type these items map to as explained in "User Input" sheet in attached sample excel.
We are having a problem that the rules are at object level i.e. the type of items and we don't have the actual item ID supplied in the "Rules" so it is becoming difficult to tie the relationship to the Data Model. Wanted to check how this could be achieved with the current data model or if new data model needs to be defined how do we tie the relationship b/w 2 tables.
I am attaching the link to the sample excel Sample Excel and below is the explanation of each sheet.
- Rules : These are the actual rules defined by end user. I have shared 2 simple sample rules with limited set of parameters
- Data Model 1: One set of data model in our datahub which is a mix of Long and wide format
- Data Model 2: another view of same entity in a wide format
- User Input: this is where the user defines which items pertain which object
- Outcome: Sample outcome how we want to show one of the views to end user.
Thank you
Sorry I'm not able to access the sample excel due to network restriction. Is it possible to paste some sample data of the models directly in the reply and share the desired outcome and rules in screenshots? Thank you.
Best Regards,
Jing
