Compare several sets of data from one date to another

Hi,

On the 1st of september, I received 5 datasets containing different information about our catalogues and products - how many products have pictures in each catalogue (dataset 1), how many products in each catalogue have search terms (dataset 2) and so forth. I made a relationships connecting the 5 datasets so I could see all the information for each product. For example; In catalogue A 40 % of the products have pictures.

What I need to see: On the 4th of september I received new, updated datasets and I wish to see/compare, not overwrite, how many new products have got pictures, search terms etc. for example in catalogue A, 50 % of the products now have pictures. There are no date fields.

The datasets have the same structure and looks like this:

Dataset 1

Catalogue A:

product 1, no picture

product 2, picture

product 3, picture

Catalogue B:

product 1, search term

product 2, search term

product 3, no search term

Can you help me?

Regards,

Mikkel Hyldig

Hi @ff6d,

1. How is the data loaded into the power bi model.

2. what is the data source type - excel / database / ccsv etc.

3. One thing that comes to my mind you have to load a date column with date of source data into the table in data model.

4. If you can share some sample data and the output required, it will help the community formulate an answer.\

Hi @Anonymous,

1. Imported sheets from my computer

2. Its 6 excelsheets at the moment

3. I thought of that as well but I do not have any date indications in my sheets

4. How do I load sample data?

Thanks!

Hi @Anonymous

Sorry for the late reply!

I uploaded three files. I need to update the information from September with the one from October to answer the question "how many new/increase in share of products, which now have pictures attached. The link between the sheets is productkey.

Main sheet: "Catalogue"; https://drive.google.com/open?id=1qbzfBLrQdkKr-k42CFKt2WBXQfdg04hnMOLYC7ellqg

Sheet from September; https://drive.google.com/open?id=1KXRFb4xStsnT64vzce7du4uxDSaFZZanWOgkddv3bvE

Updated sheet from October; https://drive.google.com/open?id=17JURHLw5OtYH4wXvDgr9zjKY_CQJnvocyJp0CepbIBc

Thank you

Hi @ff6d

Please clarify.

1. The Catalogue table is fixed. That is it is one time load only.

2. The September and October files are monthly changing files.

3. For each month you need to find how many products have pictures .

From the data sample provided September has only 7/10 products having pictures.

October has all 10/10 have pictures.

4. what is final output visual you expect.

Cheers

Hi @Anonymous

1. excactly. Catalogue is fixed

2. Yes more or less every month

3. Yes

4. For my report, I need to show progress on the share of products with pictures. For now, I am using the october dataset in a simple Card visualization without showing the september data.

I would like to know if its possible to show the development from september to october although the data is from two different datasheets without making individual reports for each month?

Regards,

Mikkel
