Hello,
I am trying to create a bargraph that shows a specific metric by year. Right now the data goes back to 2013, and the metric updates everyday making the 2022 number larger.
A small issue I am having is that I need the graph to include data from 2008-2012, but unfortunatley, this data is not in the database I am using. Is there a way that I can manually add in the data from 2008-2012, while still having this metric be live in Power BI (updating daily). I am basically trying to figure out if there is a way to combine live and static data on a graph.
Thanks!
Hi @Anonymous ,
If you have a data source in Direct query connection mode, you can add a data source in Import connection mode for example (import the table from excel to power bi)
If you have a data source in Live Connection mode, you can convert Live Connection to Direct Query through File - Options - Select Preview features - DirectQuery for PBI datasets and AS in Power BI Desktop. Then add other data sources.
But in Visual, it can only be static data or dynamic data, and cannot be presented in the same visual. You can try to use the new function field parameter
Let report readers use field parameters to change visuals (preview) - Power BI | Microsoft Docs
