Hello everyone. I am new to Power Bi and DAX, so please forgive me. I can make this all happen in excel, but not in Power Bi...
I am trying to make a Line chart where it shows we have done "X" bids in "X" month in year "X". The chart currently shows "X" bids per day. How do I aggregate them into a single month and still have it broken down per year?Current chart w/ slicers shown.
So typically you would put the Date hierarchy in the x-axis and then you get the drill down features available to drill up and down through the hierarchy. Is that what you are asking?
That is what I thought, but every time I add Month, Year, QTR, etc. to the axis, the data disappears. I even tried creating a simple table on a new "tab" I can get the count to show up, but when I add in a slicer by Month, again it disappears.
What is odd about it, is the page filter shows a count for each month, but when I select Jan, the data is gone.
@Anonymous can you share an example PBIX via OneDrive, Box or something? Or sample data?

The most important parts are:
1. Sample data as text, use the table tool in the editing bar
2. Expected output from sample data
3. Explanation in words of how to get from 1. to 2.
@Greg_Deckler, It may be easier to do a Microsoft Teams or Google meeting. Thoughts?
@Greg_Deckler Here is the link to one drive, sorry it took a minute to get everything copied over to a sample file.
Let me know if that works...
Team,
I figured it out. The format of my Table[Column] was date/time. Once I changed it to "Date" only, It worked. Thanks for the responses.
