using matrix visual
I have 2 measures in columns
Amount and Balance $
The balance doesn't change by month
so I don't need to see the monthly balance broken by month - shown in green
but I need to see the Amount broken by month
I just need the balance $ at the end of the table - as last column
any ideas to achieve this
is it possible to have that in the matrix visual
or any other ideas to achieve this
Thanks, folks
Unfortunately, the balance measure needs to be a value in the matrix for it to be available as a total. I tried messing around with conditional formatting, but couldn't get it perfect. For example, you can make it so the values and/or headers are colored to match the background (white?) to make them "invisible" ( but still there ). However, you run into an issue where all the headers and values are "invisible" and you have it in the total column, but it doesn't have a header. The closest I got was this:
And then you could overlay a white shape over the lower "amount" scratched out in green. I did this by applying these formatting options to specific column:
Then I gamed the column total label to say "Amount Balance" using empty unicode char for spaces:
It's not great, definitely chintzy. But it gets you close, at least.
