Column based on parent and daughter

Hi all,

So I have a report that is based on a "parent " with 3 "daughters" that I want to display in a table, by week.

As an example: Project 1, 2, 3 will be the parent while Product A, B, C will be the daughters.

I have no problem getting the parent, with total volumes and weeks set up. What I'm having trouble with, is splitting the parents into daughters in the table (so that I get all 3 daughters, sorted under each parent).

Any suggestions?

Hi @EriSte ,

You may try using the matrix visual.

There's a feature called drill down you can use.

Thank you for the response.
For some reason, the "Parent" and "Daughter" compete. So even though both are selected in the "Columns" field, only the one "on top" will show.

If I however have 2 matrixes with the following:

Matrix 1

Row: Week

Column: Parent

Values: Value

Matrix 2

Row: Week

Column: Daughter

Values: Value

Then when I select the parent I want in "Matrix 1", then the "Matrix 2" shows the values per daughter.

It will not work having both in the column area.

Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

@EriSte , Product and project can sort ascending or based on sort column

They can not be sorted based on value (measure high to low)

If this does not help
Can you share sample data and sample output in table format? Or a sample pbix after removing sensitive data.
