Color logic of Force-Directed Graph?

Hi, I'm enjoying using the Force-Directed Graph viz, but in order to use the results with other audiences, I need to match the colors of nodes and paths with a specific color palette. I already have the custom theme and use Link Type attribute to set the color. However, I can't seem to figure out how PBI is assigning colors based on Link Type. Ideally, the custom viz would allow more control over setting colors based on specific values (like other vizs do) but I'd settle for just understanding how it parses the data and decides which color to assign from the active theme. My thinking is that if I knew this, I could further customize either data source of the theme json file to yield the desired result.

Appreciate any help!

Hi @Anonymous,

Based on my research, you do could change some fundamental configuration of your custom visual, please refer to below topic:

You could use "ForceGraph1449359463895" name to change its configuration.

Thank you for finding that potential solution. I will mark it as accepted, but honestly it's beyond my current technical ability (or time committment Smiley Happy) to try. From that other thread, the missing piece seems to be publishing the unique codes associated with each viz type (e.g., advanceCardE03760C5AB684758B56AA29F9E6C257B).
