I need to build a portal with live data coming in from MSSQL and whenever a user logs in, the username and password get passed to a query which then pulls their information and populates the visuals with the data for each user depending on their company. I am new to Microsoft BI so I just want to know the overall more abstract steps to make this happen. Here is what I need to know:
1. I have a general query that generates the data but is not client specific, to turn it into client specific do I make it into a view? If I make it into a view what would be the process of passing the data from the portal (written in C#) to do the query when a user logs in?
2. The visuals get published from power bi desktop to power pro correct?
3. How do I update the data once its been published and client specific in an automatic way?
Thank you everyone!

2. Yes, Visuals could be published to Power BI Service through Power BI desktop, and also could be added within Power BI Service,
There is no license specific for Report publishing, for more details about Power BI license differences, please chek:
3. There is data refresh available for Power BI, for different data sources, please check:
