Click on file path to open file in new window

Is it possible to click a filepath and have it open the file in a table in PBI?

Hi @Bokazoit ,

Just to give you an idea,

We are doing this for some of our files, but those are excel files.

Not sure what is the program to call to open your file.

We create a basic html code for the files and then we use an html viewer from app source to make the link clickable.

We also do the suggestion of @lbendlin about using the SharePoint and attaching the link to the table.

and end users prefer this method.

Hope this helps.

Sounds interesting. Do You have a link to a guide?

@mussaenda great suggestion with the HTML viewer visual.  That should work for file : // links too

You could put these files on a sharepoint/onedrive, and then use a proper URL.  Not sure if you can actually display TIFF in Power BI?

It is not needed to open in PowerBI. I just need the files to be opened in its own window when clicked. The files is placed on our local server with the path shown, but for now neither Chrome or IE allows me to open the link - seems blocked

I also tried to add file: in front but still it acts like a blocked path or possibility.

The files are invoices and can not be moved to sharepoint

"The files are invoices and can not be moved to sharepoint"

Not a valid argument.  Sharepoint is used by finance departments all over the world. With proper access control it can handle invoices too.
