Circular Dependency error on a calculated field using divide function

I'm trying to create a new column with a divide function.  Below are the inputs to this calculated field.

Input 1 = Existing field is a whole number from an Excel file.

Input 2 = Whole number that came from a lookup value in another Power BI table

New column = Input 1 / Input 2  OR using DIVIDE (Input 1, Input 2).  Both of these are returning to me a circular dependency error.

If I try adding a new measure, I get the same error.

Here's the error that I get: A circular dependency was detected: Campaigns[Target Audience], Campaigns[ConRate], Campaigns[Target Audience].

What about doing a merge in the query editor rather than adding a column using LOOKUP?  I'm not sure if this will fix your problem (or is feasible) but this way the column will be loaded into the data model and it shouldn't cause a dependency error

Hi @mv124,

Rather than add a column, have you considered creating these as Calculated Measures instead?

I tried creating calculated measure and it gave me the same error.

@mv124

Could you post the problematic pbix, with network drive like Onedrive, Google drive. Circular Dependency error depends on the data relationship in your case.
