Hi Everyone,
I'm using Power Bi as a tool to check for data error.
Can you advise how I can check whether the data in the source file (MS Excel) is in DD/MM/YYYY?
Currently Power BI automatically detect the date and convert it to dd/mm/
Hi @Mimi_Ibrahim,
I would suggest you check data format in Excel file directly.
In Power BI desktop, when we import data from the Excel file, the date format is based on the regional settings in Power BI desktop: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/supported-languages-countries-regions#choose-the-locale-fo...
Best Regards,
Qiuyun Yu
Thank you Qiuyun Yu,
Are you saying that there is no way that the checks can be done via Power BI?
Not sure if checks can be done. But have you tried using the Datevalue() function
I havent tried using Datevalue() function. But I do noticed if the date format is invalid, it will trigger an error when I refresh the data source. It is a good check, but it can be tricky if there are hundreds of fields to check.
