Changing colour of 'selected' table row

Hi all, trying to work out if I can change the colour of a selected row in a table. So to be clear, I dont want to change based on any value condition, filter anything...just to highlight the selected row in a different colour.

By default MS make a subtle change to the selected row but I want to make this much more obvious. Found articles online about creating a measure then applying conditional formatting but this generally changes the entire column that you apply the format to. I just want to select the row (i dont mind repeating for each column that needs its row highlighted if necessary) but cant find a simple way to do this.

Table contents will always change and there are lots of rows so cant use bookmarks either.

thanks all

Hi @scottda4270, this is not as simple as might look like, so make sure you dedicate some time to understand how it works. You can achieve the desired result using SVG images.

This post of Gustaw Dudek explains in details how to do it: https://www.linkedin.com/posts/gustaw-dudek_analytics-data-powerbi-activity-7217184920278810624-Irya...

Good luck with your poroject!

Thank you @Sergii24 , i think this is pushing my capability beyond what i know so may have to live with what i have. Shame there is not a simpler solution. Thanks for taking the time to reply. Darren

Hi Daren, it's true, unfortunately sometimes basic featues of other tools are not available in PowerBI (at least yet!). If you wish, you can propose it as a new idea or vote for it (if similar has been already requested) - Microsoft Fabric Ideas. The project team is regularly reviewing them and addining new features also based on users request.

Remember to click on "Accept as solution" if you believe that any previous comment answered your question. It will help others to find a solution if they face similar issue 🙂

Good luck and have a great day!
