Changing Column Names

Hello everyone!

Very simple question, Is there any difference between changing the column name at the query editor or directly in the data tab? Which way is the most recommended?

Thanks

If you change in power bi it writes an extra step back in the query editor for you. (Try it and you'll see it appear)

If you're starting from scratch with a report it makes no difference. However if you have an existing report if you rename within power bi then visuals all update automatically. Whereas if you did it in query editor visuals will break.

Thank you!

The good news is that I have tried both approaches and both worked and did not break the existing visuals (from powerBI data tab and query editor).
