Change column values in a chart based on filter?

I have a bar chart that, based on a slicer I have set up, can pull its values from any one of three columns in my table. How can I tell Power BI to display a column based on the selected value in the slicer?

I attempted to add a measure that does so, but my columns (fields) do not come up as fields that are able to be used to create a measure.

I considered bookmarks, but some of my charts are dependent on the values in two or more slicers, which I think would be pretty difficult to manage with bookmarks.

I think should explore bookmarks
