Hi all,
I am using the Native Power BI Gantt Chart and was wondering if anyone had a workaround or hack for changing the Resource title in the tooltip to another title?
Solved! Go to Solution.
Hi @evek ,
In the native Power BI Gantt chart, the Resource title in the tooltip is fixed and cannot be renamed directly from the visual settings. However, you can completely bypass it using a custom tooltip report page.
Steps:
Create a new report page in Power BI Desktop.
In Page Information, turn Tooltip = On and set page size to Tooltip.
Design this page with the fields you want and your own titles.
Open your Gantt chart, then navigate to the Format pane, select Tooltip, and go to Options.
Change Type from Default to Report page.
Select your custom tooltip page from the dropdown.
Now, when you hover over the Gantt visual, only your designed tooltip will appear the default Resource label will no longer be shown.
Hi @evek
I’ve updated my answer according to your reply.
In the native Gantt chart of Power BI, the word “Resource” in the tooltip is fixed. You can’t directly rename it from the visual settings. But there are some practical ways to work around it:
Use a custom tooltip page if you want more control. With a tooltip page, you can design your own layout and show the field titles exactly as you like.
Steps to create a custom tooltip in Gantt chart:
That way you can design your own tooltip page (with any fields and titles you want) and override the default tooltip that shows Resource.
Hi,
Thanks a lot for the reply 🙂
I am not entirely sure the first two will work? the resource title will still be there.
and for custom tooltip to work, the gantt chart needs to have this option in the visual in order to display a custom tooltip page right?
