Card Visual (New) - Image Size Displays Differently in Desktop vs Published Report
We are experiencing an issue with the new card visual where images display at different sizes in Power BI Desktop compared to the published report.
- Desktop Version: 2.148.1477.0 (64-bit, October 2025)
- Behavior:
- In Desktop, the image respects the size setting (e.g., 15px vs 30px).
- After publishing, both images appear the same size regardless of the setting.
Additional Info:
- The image is generated using an image URL bound to a measure (Base64 string).
- I have tested both data:image/jpeg;base64,... and data:image/png;base64,... approaches, and the issue persists.
- The image is applied through the Image section of the new card visual (not legacy visuals).
- See attached screenshot showing Desktop vs Service behavior and the image size settings in the format pane.
I’ve tested this in both an existing file and a new file, and the issue persists. This seems different from the known GA transition issues outlined here: https://www.datazoe.blog/post/new-card-visual-preview-to-ga-impact-faq
This impacts key dashboards, so any guidance or workarounds would be greatly appreciated.

amitchandak Thanks very much for the reply. I had seen the first post, but I think this is a different issue. It does seem related to the second post, though I'm confused by some comments talking about changing the % (I do not see where I can change the %, only the image size in pixels).
After testing it further it does seem there is a relationship between the size of the image that's published and the width of the card visual regardless of what the value for the size of the image. Is this what you infer is being reported here: https://community.fabric.microsoft.com/t5/Issues/Image-in-New-Card-Visual-incorrect-size/idi-p/4883908
And if so, any idea if this is a bug that's being actively investigated? If it is related to that last thread above I'll post in that thread instead. Thanks again for your assistance.
Shackleton , there are multiple issues logged on the cards visual after the Nov 2025 Update. And this one was for the image. You can vote and comment on the same, which will help get faster solution

For anyone else reading this I've closed this ticket though the issue remains; I'll be following Image in New Card Visual (incorrect size) - Microsoft Fabric Community in the hope that Microsoft fix this.
