Since the december release I've been unable to import/connect to excel sheets that contain tables or pivot tables using powerbi desktop. The only files that work are plain excel sheets with no formating.
PowerBI Online works fine, and can import tables (not pivot tables) but I require powerbi desktop for my project.
It might be because I am on an insider build of Windows. can anyone verify if their import functionnality still works?
Thanks!
Hi @cmplieger,
Did you use Import -> Excel Workbook Contents to import data? Based on my test in Power BI desktop version 2.42.4611.701, I'm able to import Excel workbook content. In your scenario, please update the desktop to the latest version, and download the Excel Workbook from here: Download the Power BI sample workbooks. And import downloaded Excel workbook( eg: Sales and Marketing Sample) to the desktop to see if it's successful.
Best Regards,
Qiuyun Yu
