Can't change the data type in power bi

Hi Team,

 

This is Rahul R. I have loaded csv file to power BI. In that file two columns are dollar amount ($) value. But the data type was already updated as text. I have checked in excel and power query editor, it shows the text data type. I can't change the data type in currency. After created DAX formula it showing an error as "MdxScript(Model) (3, 38) Calculation error in measure 'Sales-Team'[Total Sales]: The function SUM cannot work with values of type String". Could you please advice how to change the data type in power bi query as well as in excel also.

@rvrcompany377 if you cannot change the data type it means the columns contain non-number values.
