We would like to use Power bi desktop to get data from an Oracle (Oracle version 19c) database.
Is additional software required to do this ? and if so what software is best.
I am running Power Bi desktop ( The november 2023 version). When i do Get Data, database, oracle, it tells me that "The reccomended provider ('Oracle.DataAccess.Client') is not installed. You can continue with your current provider, however it has been deprecated and may not work correctly."
What is the best software to use to connect Power Bi Desktop to an oracle database, and is there a cost of doing so ?

Hi @gregboothdelt ,
If I understand correctly, the issue is that you want to get data from an Oracle database. Please try the following methods and check if they can solve your problem:
1.You need to install the Oracle Client Microsoft Tools(OCMT) on the computer.
Connect to an Oracle database with Power BI Desktop - Power BI | Microsoft Learn
2.Ensure The OCMT software you use depends on which version of Power BI Desktop you have installed.
Connect to an Oracle database with Power BI Desktop - Power BI | Microsoft Learn
3.Install the Oracle Client for Microsoft Tools.

Looking forward to your reply.
