Calculating dates

Hi

We run programmes that fall in line with a different yearly cycle than the calendar months. Our calendar starts on 01/08 every year and ends 31/07 every year.

If someone starts their programme on 01/01/2019 they are in their second year of study as of todays date. If they start 01/09/2017 they are in their 3rd year of study as of todays date.

The calculations i am using are

Prog year check = DATEDIFF(Learners[Episode Start],TODAY(),DAY)/365

and then
Programme Year= ROUNDUP(Learners[Prog year check],0)

However this is not taking into account our year starts on 01/08 so currently if someone started 01/01/2019 they are showing as being in their fist year rather than their second year.

Is there a way to calculate this?

thanks

One quick way I can think of is you use the start of year function

End of the year would be ideal, but will not work directly on today

DATEDIFF(STARTOFYEAR(Admission[Date],"7/31"),TODAY(),MONTH)

Now you will get more than 12 month , develop login based on month or year

Appreciate your Kudos. In case, this is the solution you are looking for, mark it as the Solution. In case it does not help, please provide additional information and mark me with @
