Calculating current Quarter

Hi Experts,

I have a Fiscal Year/ Period column using which I have defined Fiscal Quarters. Is there way/ formula to know the on going fiscal quarter.

Quick response is highly appreciated!

Regards,

Ashok

You could create a calculated column, = TODAY() and relate that to a date table with dates and associated fiscal quarter.

DAX is easy, CALCULATE makes DAX hard...

Assuming your date dimension has a field containing calendar dates:

Current Fiscal Quarter =
LOOKUPVALUE(
    DimDate[Fiscal Quarter]
    ,DimDate[Date]
    ,TODAY()
)

You can then use this anywhere you need to return the current fiscal quarter. This is unaffected by filter or row context.

Thanks @greggyb,

I could resolve many "current"s like Fiscal Year, Fiscal Quarter, Week etc.

Deepak
